We’re also witnessing the rise of open source home automation hubs to match the likes of Apple’s HomeKit. A Python 3-based home automation hub created by software engineer Paulus Schoutsen. Calaos is an home automation software. It features a complete set of part to automate your house from lights to shutter or even music or cameras. OpenHAB is a Java-based open-source home. This software is currently aimed at Application Developers who wish to incorporate Z-Wave functionality into their applications. Like some others I'd like control software I can just setup, but then be able to dive WAY deep into the code as needed. Fully open source software seems like its the way to go. Ideally something that can run on an RPi or similar. Thus far I've found:
